About

Zillah completed a Foundation course at Sunderland Art College before going on to study at the Ruskin School of Fine Art in Oxford. After three years training in drawing, painting, anatomy and history of art she graduated with a degree in Fine Art in 1972.

After spending three years working in Athens, Knossos and Sparta as an archaeological illustrator, she went on to work for the department of archaeology at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.

She has had 5 major solo exhibitions in the North of England showing watercolour paintings of local architecture, landscapes and natural history. In Kent, where she is now resident, she has spent many years teaching art and is a regular exhibitor at the annual Kent Painters Group's show. She also takes part in the South East Open Studios and has exhibited in Wadhurst and Sevenoaks.

Zillah now specialises in architectural work and undertakes commissions in London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex. In London, she has recently painted the Middle Temple Dining Hall and two Chambers as well as several hotels & private houses in Fulham, South Kensington, Notting Hill, Park Lane and Soho.

In Kent & Sussex, Zillah has been commissioned to paint many fine homes - both interior and exteriors views. A painting of a friend's house, business premises or farm makes an ideal gift for a wedding, birthday, special anniversary or retirement; a painting to take with you when you move house lets you keep a memory alive wherever you live! Personalised greetings cards and/or posters of the painting can also be arranged.
